placeholdr.dev collects as little as it needs to generate images, enforce limits, and run subscriptions. We do not sell personal data.
Image requests
Image URLs contain the prompt, size, style, and seed. These are public by design and are stored with each generated image. Usage statistics also record them, with the domain of the website that embedded the image; that domain also applies per-domain limits. Your IP address is used only to apply usage limits, through a short-lived scrambled identifier, and is not kept with images or usage statistics.
Website analytics
The homepage uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count visits and button clicks. Prompts and image URLs are not sent to it. The Pro account page has no analytics.
Placeholdr Pro
Stripe handles payments. We never see your full card details. We store your subscription's status, renewal date, and the domains you list. Stripe keeps your email address and billing details, and we can see them in Stripe to provide support.
When you open your account page, your browser keeps a cookie so My account opens it again. It holds only your account link's ID, is sent only to our account endpoints, and Forget this browser on the account page removes it.
We email your private account link once after you subscribe, and again whenever you ask for it on the account page. To find your subscription, we look up the email address you enter in Stripe; we do not store it. To prevent abuse, scrambled versions of the email address and IP address behind each request are kept for two days.
Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts the service, stores images, and sends account emails. It processes every request, including your IP address, and keeps short-lived technical logs.
- Runpod runs the image model and receives prompts.
- Stripe processes payments and subscriptions.
- Google Analytics measures homepage visits.
Retention
Generated images and their prompts are kept so their URLs keep working. Subscription records are kept while you subscribe and afterwards as long as needed for billing and accounting.
Your choices
Do not put personal information in prompts. To ask about, correct, or delete your subscription data, email us from the address you subscribed with.
